About Zubr

Science-first detection tools, built with producers.

Our mission is to keep forage clean and landscapes healthy.

Our Mission

We're building practical, lab-grounded detection tools that protect forage quality and guide efficient weed control. Invasive annual grasses like ventenata, medusahead, and cheatgrass threaten hay quality, pasture productivity, and ecosystem health across the Western U.S.

Early detection is the key to cost-effective management, but it's hard. These weeds often go unnoticed until infestations are severe. We're changing that with spectral detection tools that find contamination early—when it's still manageable.

Team & Partners

Deep expertise in remote sensing, machine learning, and agricultural systems.

👥

Founding Team

Our founders bring backgrounds in remote sensing, machine learning, and agricultural technology. We've spent years developing spectral analysis methods and translating them into practical field tools.

🔬

MSU OpTeC

We partner with Montana State University's Optical Technology Center (OpTeC) for optics and sensor engineering expertise. This collaboration keeps our hardware at the cutting edge.

🗺️

UM Spatial Analysis Lab

The University of Montana Spatial Analysis Lab provides mapping and analytics expertise. Together, we're advancing spatial detection methods for invasive species.

Where We Work

Headquartered in Western Montana, serving the Northern Rockies and beyond.

🏔️

Western Montana

Our home base gives us direct access to the hay and rangeland ecosystems where invasive annual grasses are an urgent problem.

🌎

Partner Networks

Through our university partnerships and service provider network, we're expanding our reach across the Northern Rockies and Western U.S.

What We Stand For

🔬

Science-Grounded

Every detection method is validated against lab standards and field truth. No black boxes.

🤝

Producer-Focused

Tools designed for real-world conditions and workflows, not lab ideals.

🌱

Impact-Driven

Our goal is healthier landscapes and more sustainable agriculture.
